iOS 12 Security

A Forbes article popped up in my Google app feed warning that devices running iOS 12 have a security flaw that allows the screen lock to be compromised. (I won’t post a link to the article as the site has numerous annoying popups and auto-running videos). The article didn’t give much detail and gave no advice for protecting your device.

An article from SlashGear.com states that the data recovery company that is exploiting the flaw in iOS devices, offering an expensive service to unlock devices,  is also claiming it can unlock devices running Android and Windows.

Maybe instead of getting too deep in fear, the best advice is to follow sound security practice, no matter the device you have or the operating system it runs. Check out this Tech Crunch article on iOS security settings you should employ.
