Post Mail Still Matters
A greeting card is more than a pretty piece of paper. Even cards with very short notes convey far more than their corresponding size. A card brings a personal connection between folks separated by miles. A card can be a delightful surprise to receive, even when it comes from someone who lives within walking distance. This charm is especially true in our digital driven world when more and more jobs involve computer use and personal communication is done via phone texts.
Your Card Speaks Volumes
Greeting cards are vessels of sweet emotion and creativity that convey meaningful connection. The card lets you express “I remember you. I’m thinking of you. You matter to me.” and it does it in a lasting way since the recipient has a tangible reminder of your love and care. The recipient can set the card out and smile each time she views it for weeks, maybe more so than viewing an old text or email since it may be touched.
Shared Creativity
Think about this circle of creativity: the designer expresses her creativity and skill in making the cards; the one who purchases the card is making a deliberate choice about matching that card to a loved one that will receive it; further, both the giver and the recipient can both be inspired by the design — how often have you appreciated a work of art or clever design that inspired you to make something yourself or to express yourself in a new way (like framing a card for display or arranging several cards that you have received into a brand new artistic creation)?
Since we are talking about sharing, let us know why you send cards or why you loving receiving them. We’ll share some of the comments in a future article. Thank you for visiting us!
